Swedish Crown Princess Victoria
Swedish Crown Princess Victoria is the most beautiful royal bride all time, outclassing other high-profile royals like Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Grace Kelly, a new survey has shown.
According to a poll conducted by Italehti, one of Finland's main tabloid newspapers, Victoria is by far the most eye-catching royal bride ever to walk down the aisle.
The Crown Princess, who wed fiancé Daniel Westling in Stockholm in June 2010 in a ceremony which drew hundreds of thousands to the Swedish capital, blew away the competition, 44 percent of Italehti readers voting her the most beautiful royal bride ever.
The heir to the Swedish throne beat out second-place Grace Kelly, the famed Hollywood actress who became Princess consort of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III in April 1956, by a whopping 32 percentage points.
Meanwhile, the two of the most notable and more recent British royal brides, Kate Middleton and Princess Diana, tied for third place in the poll, having each received 11 percent of votes.
“We are aware that the Crown Princess is very popular in Finland,” Bertil Tenert, a spokesperson with the Swedish Royal Court, told the Expressen newspaper.
“In Finland, people know as much about the Swedish royal family as people in Sweden and they are followed with great interest.”
Victoria and Daniel made their first visit to Finland as husband and wife in November 2010, being met by thousands of well-wishers.
Ahead of the visit, Finish president Tarja Halonen said she and her husband felt “like the aunt and uncle next door” for Victoria.
