Woman found dead in south Stockholm(Hallunda) flat

Woman found dead in south Stockholm flat

A 21-year-old woman was found dead in an apartment in Hallunda south of Stockholm on Thursday.
“She was killed inside the flat. We are working on identifying witnesses and are trying to question anyone who might have heard or seen anything,” said Peter Asp of the Stockholm police to news agency TT.

Police received a call shortly after 4pm on Thursday. The woman was dead when they arrived at the flat.

“We arrived at the same time as ambulance staff attempted to resuscitate her. They had to stop trying fairly quickly. It wasn’t possible to save her life,” Asp said.

A forensic investigation has been launched and police are unwilling to divulge any particulars surrounding the case at this stage in the investigation.

Police have brought in a suspect, a 22-year-old man. Officers say that people in the neighbourhood alerted the police to sounds of brawling from a nearby flat. The 22-year-old was arrested in the apartment.

“We don’t know the motive yet but we know they have some sort of a relationship to each other. She was visiting a friend when he arrived, “ said Hesam Akbari of the south Stockholm police to TT.

Police said on Thursday that they are planning to question the man over the course of the night.

A weapon has been found that may have been used against the woman and which has been sent for forensic analysis.
